Passing of a Life Member

It is with great admiration that Oakmont Fire company celebrates the life of Former Chief Raymond Keller Jr. Chief Keller was a 50 year member of the company and thirty year member of the Haverford Township Police Department. His commitment to serving the people of Haverford Township was both inspirational and nothing short of exemplary. Joining Oakmont in 1951 “Ray” held the positions of Firefighter, Engineer, Captain, Assistant Chief, Chief, and Director. His time in the fire service spanned enough years to serve the length of two life memberships with the company and two and half life membership of the Haverford Township Relief Association. Chief Keller was also a member of the Delaware County Fireman’s Association and his legacy is carried on by his son, Firefighter/EMT Raymond “Skip” Keller III. The Chief was laid to rest at St. Denis Cemetery in Havertown with full firefighter’s honors and a police honor guard. His family asks that any contributions be made to either Oakmont Fire Company or The March of Dimes at the attn. of DRFR 1275 Mamaronieck Avenue, White Plains, NY 10605.
